("Gaurav Studios," "we," "us," or "our") provides Nepal Explore to help people discover destinations, local businesses, and travel information related to Nepal. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you may have.

Information you provide directly

When you use submission, feedback, or contact features, you may provide information such as:

  5. business or destination details you submit
  6. contact details for a submitted listing
  7. website links, address details, and promotional text
  8. photos or images you upload


Location information

If you allow location access on your device, ExploreNepal may collect precise location information from your device to:


  1. show nearby destinations or businesses
  2. center the map on your current position
  3. help you choose or confirm a map pin when submitting a listing
  4. support route and navigation actions

You can deny or revoke location permissions through your device settings, but some location-based features may then work in a limited way or not work at all.


Usage and device information

We may collect limited usage information about how ExploreNepal is used, including:


  1. pages or screens viewed
  2. feature interactions
  3. session identifiers
  4. selected country context
  5. listing or business interactions tied to feature usage

Based on the current app build, product analytics are stored locally on the device or browser environment used to run the app unless you add a separate remote analytics service later.


Submission and listing information

If you submit a new destination or a business promotion request, we may collect and store:

  2. description
  3. category
  4. map coordinates
  5. address or landmark information
  6. contact name
  7. contact email
  8. contact phone number
  9. website
  10. price range
  11. promotion tier or promotional message
  12. uploaded photos
  13. moderation status and timestamps


Admin account information


If you are an authorized admin user, we may collect and process account information such as your login email address, account identifier, and admin access status to authenticate and manage admin access.


AI and contextual information

When AI insight features are used, the app may process listing details such as the place name, category, description, image reference, and map coordinates. The app may also request current weather information for the relevant location to generate contextual travel text.


Based on the current codebase:


  • weather data is requested from Open-Meteo
  • on supported app builds, AI text generation uses a locally downloaded on-device model
  • the current app does not send listing text to a hosted large language model provider for this feature


2. How We Collect Information

We collect information:


  1. directly from you when you fill in forms, send feedback, submit listings, or upload images
  2. automatically from your device when you use map, navigation, or location-based features
  3. from our service providers and infrastructure needed to run the app
  4. from authentication workflows when an admin user signs in


3. How We Use Information


We use personal information and related data to:


  1. operate, maintain, and improve ExploreNepal
  2. show destinations, businesses, maps, and navigation features
  3. review, moderate, approve, reject, update, or delete submitted listings and images
  4. respond to feedback, questions, and support requests
  5. contact you about a submission or business request when needed
  6. generate AI-assisted travel insights and weather-aware summaries
  7. protect the app, detect misuse, and support security and troubleshooting
  8. comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms or policies


4. When Information Becomes Public

ExploreNepal includes community and business submission features. If a destination, business listing, or image is approved for publication, some of the information you submitted may become visible to other users of the app or website.


This may include:


  1. listing or business name
  2. description
  3. category
  4. location on the map
  5. approved photos
  6. address or landmark details
  7. contact details intended for public display
  8. website links
  9. promotional text

Only submit information you are comfortable having published if your submission is approved.


5. Photo Uploads and Public Media Warning

If you upload photos through ExploreNepal, those files may be stored in a cloud media bucket used to serve listing images in the app. In the current implementation, uploaded listing images are stored in a publicly accessible storage bucket so they can be displayed by URL.


This means:


  1. approved images may be shown publicly in the app or website
  2. image URLs may be technically accessible if someone has the direct link
  3. you should not upload photos containing sensitive personal information, government IDs, financial information, or private documents


6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information under this Privacy Policy.


We may share information in the following situations:


Service providers and infrastructure partners

We use third-party services to operate parts of ExploreNepal, including:


  1. Supabase for database, authentication, and file storage services
  2. Open-Meteo for weather data used in AI insight generation
  3. OpenStreetMap tile services or related tile-delivery infrastructure for map rendering
  4. Hugging Face or related download infrastructure when retrieving the local AI model file
  5. Google Maps or another maps application when you choose an external directions or navigation action

These providers may process information as needed to provide their services to us.


Public sharing through the product

Approved listings, approved images, and public-facing business details may be shown to app or website users.


Legal and safety disclosures

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of ExploreNepal.


Business transfers

If ExploreNepal is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.


7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  3. review and manage submissions
  4. maintain approved listings and related public content
  5. respond to feedback and support requests
  6. resolve disputes
  7. comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or security obligations

Retention periods can vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete it, de-identify it, or archive it where permitted by law.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information we control. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, no mobile app, and no storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.


9. International Data Transfers

Depending on how ExploreNepal is accessed and which providers are used, information may be processed or stored outside your country or region. This can include processing by cloud, hosting, storage, mapping, model-download, and weather-service providers.


If you access ExploreNepal from a jurisdiction with data-transfer restrictions, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to countries with different privacy laws, subject to applicable safeguards where required.


10. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or additional information about personal information we hold about you.


You may also be able to:


  • ask us to review or correct inaccurate information
  • request deletion of certain submitted information
  • withdraw location permission through your device settings
  • contact us with a complaint or privacy concern

ExploreNepal is not intended for children under 13, or any higher minimum age required by local law for digital consent, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
